CIFT observes world fisheries day

Visakhapatnam: Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT) commemorated World Fisheries Day with a series of talks highlighting innovation, sustainability, and the invaluable contribution of fisheries to global food security on Tuesday. Students from Department of Marine Living Resources of Andhra University attended the scientific talks. The day’s programmes also coincided with the Word Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week.
With a commitment to promoting sustainable fishing practices and technological advancements in the fishing industry, ICAR-CIFT held discussions centering around harnessing cutting-edge technologies for responsible aquaculture, ensuring a balance between conservation and economic development in the fisheries sector.
